ROLLING THE Rs, 2008,
Kumu Kahua Theatre:
Play about High School students and identity in Kalihi in the '70s. Chalkboard panels slid in and out to change location while a TV set showed titles for each scene.
THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE [ABBRIDGED], 2009,
Hawaii Repertory Theatre:

PIRATES OF PENZANCE, 2009,

Canvas sails were pulled aside to become the curtains of the Major General's mansion. A gangplank was supposed to extend through the audience but ultimately surrounded a trough for footlights.
HAWAII SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, 2009 Season

For 2009 we used arena seating with scenic units in each corner. The floor was repainted for each production, shown here is "Merry Wives of Windsor."
QUIPTEASE, 2009,
Hawaii Pacific University. Premier.
A typical Southern California home with some Ancient Roman influences was the setting for this comedy about poetic possession.
VOICES FROM OKINAWA, 2009 (remounted in 2010),
Kumu Kahua Theatre:
A multi-use set for a play about an English teacher in Okinawa. The director wanted a warm, inviting feel to the set with elements of a Bon dance. For more images click here.
ART, 2010,
All the World's a Stage Theatre Company:
Canvas draped shapes created a neutral space that could shift between each of the three characters' apartments depending on which painting was featured. [Also Lighting Designer.]
THE SHAPE OF THINGS, 2010,
All the World's a Stage Theatre Company:
An 'L'-shaped audience and an art gallery-inspired design that suggests the characters are all part of an art installation.
HAWAII SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, 2010 Season
(Julius Caesar, Measure for Measure, Henry VI trilogy),
Done in deep thrust with replaceable panels for the different productions. Shown here "Measure" on the left and "Henry" on the right. Note the throne/bathtub for "Henry" that became variously a baptismal font, the English Channel, and the stake to burn Joan.
