The setting was a feudal world built of cement and steel slowly being swallowed by molten lava.

MACBETH, 2008:



No furniture or additional scenery was used, for the banquet scene actors sat on the edges of the platforms while the ghost appeared from a hidden trapdoor in the lava.

MACBETH, 2008:



The lava flow was translucent so that it could glow and pulse at dramatic moments. The witches' cauldron was a lava tube that belched smoke.
